Planning decisions - more guidance

As of 2nd April 2020, legislation has been released in draft and Regulation 5 (3) provides helpful and interesting guidance on the conditions that need to be met if the requirements for remote attendance are to be satisfied. Those conditions are based on the need for members in remote attendance to be heard and where possible, seen by others including members of the public and those who exercise a right to speak at the meeting, including those who too access remotely. The regulations do not extend to just District, Borough and County Councils; they apply to Parishes, National Park Authorities and Conservation Boards, among others to ensure their abilities to consult on planning applications are not impeded.
